This story is all too familiar for the residents of the Florida Keys.  Homes that were built years ago are now in need of immediate attention! 

Why is this happening?   The short version is that the steel reinforcement that was placed in the concrete when the home was built has been oxidizing and expanding causing the concrete to pull apart.  This has been happening over the years, but based on our experience, the more the concrete expands, the more the steel is exposed to the elements thus causing more extensive damage.
